A native of Pickerington, Ohio, Stacy Scudder entered Heidelberg College in the fall of 1989 determined to succeed on the court and in the classroom. She was described as "a smart player with good court sense, who would add much needed quickness to the team."

During that first season Scudder earned a place in the starting lineup as a guard and helped lead the Berg to its first NCAA Final Four appearance. She led the team in its opening NCAA Regional game against Wittenberg with nine rebounds and finished the year averaging 8.3 points and 6.4 rebounds a contest. Scudder earned her first varsity letter and was voted to the NCAA Atlantic Regional All-Tournament Team.

Scudder's freshman campaign was only the beginning of a successful four-year career on the hardwood. In her second season, Scudder excelled in the classroom earning a spot on the All-OAC Academic Honorable Mention team.

In her final two seasons, Scudder was named to the first team in the OAC in both basketball and academics, as well as being tabbed the team's Most Valuable Player. In 1993 she picked up All-OAC Tournament Team honors and earned the title of Heidelberg's NCAA Woman of the Year and its Clyde Lamb scholar-athlete nominee.

Scudder's name is inked all over the record book. She holds the career record for games played (113) and assists (458). She currently ranks eighth on the all-time scoring list with 1,167 points. In the single-season record book Scudder holds the record for assists with 155 during the 1992-93 season.

After graduating from the Berg, Scudder completed the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997 and was named Chief Resident of the Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio in, a position she held from 1998-2000. She recently married Matthew Baase in January of 2008 and has two sons, Hunter (9) and Chase (6), with another on the way.
