Heidelberg Athletics Hall of Fame
After a storied career for the Tricolor, running back Jeff Brock saved his best for last.
The four-year letterman from Zanesville rushed for 301 yards and four touchdowns on 51 carries in a 31-22 win over Muskingum in the final game of his career. All three marks still sit atop the Heidelberg record book.
With 4,077 yards on 966 carries, Brock is still the career rushing leader for the Student Princes, breaking the records held by Bryce Tuohy, a 2000 Hall of Fame inductee. He received the Paul H. Hoernemann Memorial Prize and the Leadership Recognition Award. Brock was a captain of the 1999 team, coached by Larry Shank. Additionally, Brock was a three-time All-OAC selection and an All-Region honoree in 1999.
In line with the Division III scholar-athlete philosophy, Brock graduated with a degree in accounting. He was a member of the Tau Phi Pi business honorary and was an Academic All-OAC selection.
As a graduate of John Glenn High School, Brock was the second in his family to attend Heidelberg. His older brother, Jason, entered the Heidelberg Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010 as a member of the 1999 track team.
Brock has devoted his career to accounting and finance. He currently lives in Columbus and is a pricing consultant for Sedgwick, a health and benefits administration industry.
