Simply put, Judi Bataille is the fastest woman in Heidelberg history.

Bataille destroyed the Heidelberg track and field record book, and still holds a total of nine school records -- six individual and three relays.

The first ‘Berg female athlete to even qualify for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships since 1989, Bataille didn’t have to travel far to compete in the 2008 event -- hosted by Ohio Northern.  Competing in the 55-meter dash, she won the first heat with a time of 7.11 seconds.  In the finals, she took an incredible .11 off her time and won the national title with a time of 7.0 seconds.  In doing so, she joined Monica Scott as Heidelberg’s only women’s track and field national champions.

She successfully defended her title in the 55-meter dash at the 2009 championships in Terre Haute, Ind.  In the prelims, she had the fastest time -- clocking a 7.09.  Predictably, she improved upon that time in the finals, running a 7.02.

Bataille’s bid for a three-peat came up 0.1 second short at the 2010 national championship in Greencastle, Ind.  Instead, she finished fourth and earned All-America honors once again.

Though indoor season was where she shone brightest, Bataille also enjoyed success in the outdoor campaign.  At the 2009 championship, hosted by Marietta, she took home seventh-place honors with a time of 12.31 in the 100-meter dash.

At the conference level, Bataille was an eight-time OAC champion and received the Fred Raizk Most Outstanding Sprint Athlete award in 2008 and 2010.  In 2008, she also received Division III Great Lakes Region Indoor Women’s Athlete of the Year honors.

Today, she competes in the International Federation of BodyBuilding and Fitness (IFBB) league.
