Heidelberg Athletics Hall of Fame
Gwendolyn Miller began her college career at Heidelberg wondering when the end would be near, but she grew accustomed to the demands on a student-athlete and found that she would be facing the best four years of her life.
The Westerville, Ohio native, quickly adapted to the style of play at the collegiate level as she was a starting midfielder on the women's soccer team from 1993-1996. She helped lead the Berg to the Ohio Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship and Tournament Title in her freshman, sophomore and junior campaigns.
Miller was a four-time All-OAC pick, earning a nod on the first team in 1994 and 1995. She also was a two-time All-American (1994, 1995) in her four years in a Berg uniform. Miller earned a spot on the All-Ohio and the All-Great Lakes lists from 1993-1996.
From 1993-1996, Heidelberg accumulated an overall record of 64-19 with a 33-3 mark in league action. In 1993 and 1995, the Berg tallied a perfect 9-0 record in the OAC.
During the 1995 and 1996 campaigns, Miller helped guide the Berg to 17-win seasons. The 17 wins on the year stood as an OAC record until 2003. She also helped contribute to the OAC record of consecutive conference victories. Heidelberg strung together 29 straight wins from 1992-1994.
Miller graduated from the Berg in 1997 with a degree in environmental biology and business administration. In 1999, she moved to southern California and started a career with SICOR Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and currently works as a Senior Quality System Compliance Auditor.
