WESTERVILLE -- Heidelberg University Softball player
Adyson Bowe was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week on Monday, as announced by the conference. The honor is the first of Bowe's career, and Heidelberg Softball's second honoree of the season in the last two weeks.
Bowe, a freshman from Bowling Green, was 7-for-13 (.538) in four games last week. She drove in 4 runs, hitting two doubles, two triples, and one home run. Bowe is the second Heidelberg player to earn the distinction this season, following teammate
Alexis Burton, who took home the award last Monday.
The week began in Adrian, Michigan, where Bowe was nearly impossible to retire, going 5-for-7, while having four runs, 2 RBI, 2 doubles, and a home run across the twin bill. To cap off the week in Wilmington, Bowe finished with 2 RBI and a triple.
As a team, the Student Princes offense has been firing on all cylinders, maintaining a .363 team batting average. Heidelberg currently sits at 14-6 overall (2-2 OAC) and continues to be one of the most dangerous lineups in the conference.
Bowe and the Student Princes return to the friendly confines of Frann's Field on Tuesday, March 31, for a non-conference twinbill against Manchester University.
