TIFFIN – Despite a season-high 29 points from freshman
Tori See, the Heidelberg Women's Basketball team took a loss against Mt. Union Wednesday evening, 85-64.
In addition to the scoring outburst, See had eight rebounds.
Brenna Williams and
Emma Crow each had nine points a piece.
Abby Tier dished out five assists.
Heidelberg got out to a fast start, building an early five-point lead. Mount Union responded with a 14-2 run to gain control of the contest. Heidelberg fought back, getting to within two at 16-14, but the relentless Purple Raiders continued to build their lead. The visitors led at halftime, 40-20.
After halftime, HU came out with more energy, especially in the fourth quarter. HU outscored Mount, 28-23, in the final stanza.
See, a Waynesville product, has scored more than 20 points on four occasions. The 29 points are the most by a Heidelberg player since Brittanie Ulmer had a 34-point performance against Manchester on Dec. 30, 2019. She leads the OAC in scoring by a freshman, averaging 12.7 a night, and is second among freshmen, grabbing 7.0 rebounds per contest.
Heidelberg travels to Marietta on Saturday. The women's game will start at 1 p.m., with the men's game to follow.
