TIFFIN – The Heidelberg University Women's Basketball team fell to the Otterbein Cardinals on Saturday, 55-41. With the loss, The Berg stumbled to 3-16, 2-10 in OAC, while Otterbein moved to 10-9, 6-6 in OAC play.

Heidelberg was led by Morgan Altenburger, scoring 12 points and collecting nine rebounds. Chloe Gilbert added eight points, while Emiliy Valencia added seven to round out the top three scorers for the Berg. Hannah Hunt added two blocks in the losing effort.

The Cardinals led by as many as 21 in the fourth quarter, but the relentless 'Berg hoopers were able to cut the deficit by 33% by game's end. 

Both teams struggled from beyond the arc, shooting a combined 0-for-16.  

Heidelberg returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at home against No. 11 Baldwin Wallace. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
