WESTERVILLE, Ohio — The Heidelberg University Women's Basketball team battled through a difficult afternoon on the road, falling 92–40 to Otterbein in conference action on Saturday. The Cardinals used pressure defense and efficient scoring to build an early lead and maintain control throughout the game.
Otterbein jumped out to a 20–7 advantage after the opening quarter, forcing turnovers and converting them into points. Heidelberg struggled to find offensive rhythm early, but continued to compete on the defensive end while rotating players to stem the momentum.
The Cardinals extended their lead before halftime, taking a 44–16 advantage into the break. Otterbein capitalized on transition opportunities and second-chance points, while Heidelberg worked to generate cleaner looks and limit damage in the paint.
Brenna Williams led the Student Princes offensively with 15 points, providing consistent interior scoring.
Mya Jones added nine points, and
Tori See chipped in six.
Hannah Hunt contributed across the stat sheet with five points, four assists, and two blocks.
Malia Mizeres sparked the effort defensively with five steals, helping disrupt Otterbein's flow at times.
Heidelberg will return to action at Bethany College on Wednesday. The opening tip is scheduled for 6 p.m.
