WILMINGTON --A 10-2 run late in the fourth gave hope for a Heidelberg University Women's Basketball victory. Unable to capitalize on free throws to close a three-point gap, the Student Princes fell, 60-55, on the road at Wilmington College Saturday afternoon.

Three juniors notched double-digit points, led by
Chloe Gilbert at 15.
Morgan Altenburger added 13 and
Emma Keto had 11, all of which came in the first quarter.
Sinking three 3-pointers in the first, Keto was shooting a hot 75% from deep. At six minutes, she and Gilbert broke the tie with consecutive shots from deep to double the score at 12-6. Altenburger added six of her own throughout before Keto sniped her third with 53 seconds remaining to close the quarter with a 22-17 lead.
Wilmington ramped up their full-court press in the second, which helped hold Heidelberg to just eight points. The halftime score saw a 33-30 home-team advantage.
Action from Gilbert to Altenburger opened up the half to bring Heidelberg within one. The Quakers would go on an 11-3 run over the next three minutes to stifle any hopes of an easy 'Berg comeback. Three shots from the line in the last minute gave the home team a 49-40 lead going into the third.
Late in the fourth, HU saw some light as Gilbert contributed five in a 10-2 'Berg run while holding the hosts to a pair of free throws. Altenburger put one in from the charity stripe with 12 seconds left, which capped off Heidelberg's scoring for the 60-55 loss.
