McVicker Tabbed OAC Hitter of the Week

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Senior outfielder Adam McVicker (Canal Winchester, Ohio /Bishop Hartley) of the Heidelberg University baseball team has been named the OAC Baseball Hitter of the Week.

This is McVicker's first time winning the honor, bolstered by the teams' 5-1 performance last week. He turned 22 at-bats into 13 hits – three doubles, two triples and two home runs. Furthermore, he tallied eight RBIs while hitting .591 with a 1.182 slugging percentage and a .630 on-base percentage. 

His highlight of the week came from Sunday as he hit two home runs against Capital, one of those being an inside the park home run.  He also racked up five RBIs. 

In the conference, he holds seven top-10 positions for statistical categories. They include: 
  • Triples - 3 (2nd)
  • Slugging Percentage - .732 (4th) 
  • Walks - 12 (5th)
  • Runs - 19 (8th)
  • Sacrifice Flies - 2 (9th)
  • Home Runs - 3 (10th)
  • Total Bases - 41 (10th)

Last year as a junior McVicker made his breakout, earning 36 starts. Throughout the season he collected 34 hits, tallying 20 RBIs and scoring 33 runs. He also managed 11 doubles, one triple and four home runs. 

This year, in just 16 games he has connected on 21 hits and a team-high 16 RBIs.

McVicker and the Student Princes will take a road trip to Albion on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. start time.
