ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University baseball team opened OAC action with a pair of losses at Mount Union. The Purple Raiders won the first, 4-2, then took the nightcap, 7-1.
GAME ONE: MTU 4-11-0 BERG 2-8-1
Heidelberg struck first blood with a run in the top of the first.
Keaton Mark walked and moved to third on a base hit by
Eric DeVore.
Adam McVicker drove in Mark with a single through the right side.
Mount Union answered in the home half of the first, plating a pair of runs.
The Student Princes knotted the game in the fifth with a single by Mark that drove in
Robert Hunt.
Again, the Purple Raiders responded immediately with another two-spot in the fifth. They would hold on to the 4-2 advantage.

Ross Thompson struck out four in seven full innings of work.
GAME TWO: MTU 7-9-0 BERG 1-4-3
After scoring single runs the first and the third, Mount put up four in the fourth inning and led 6-0.
In the top of the sixth, Hunt singled and moved to second on a walk to Mark. DeVore followed with a double to right, scoring Hunt.
Mount added an unearned run in the bottom of the sixth.
Ryan Keane and
Zane Mirgon combined for 4.2 innings of relief, allowing one unearned run.
