HARROD, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University Women's and Men's Golf teams teed off on the 2026-27 season on Sunday at the Ohio Northern Kickoff Classic. Senior transfer Claire Recker was the medalist on the women's side, lifting HU to a top-five finish. The men's B-Team was eighth and the A-Team was 11th.

Recker made an immediate impact in her Heidelberg debut, firing a seven-over 79 to earn medalist honors. Junior Brooke Barnes joined her in the top 10, shooting an 85 to finish ninth. Cate Reinhart carded a 92, while Lexie Honigford shot a 95 and Katelyn Hostettler finished with a 96.

On the men's side, the B-Team finished with a 325, five shots better than the A-Team's 330.

James Johnston paced the B-Team with a two-over 74, tying for fifth overall. Nate Kelly shot an 82, followed by Carter Stull's 84 and Connor Jennings' 85. Aiden Hammond rounded out the group with a 93.

The A-Team was led by Luke Frankhart, who shot a 79. Nolan Hamilton was one stroke back with an 80, while Ryan Rettig carded an 82. Will Mohler and Cael Dowdell finished with rounds of 89 and 92, respectively.

Both squads return to action back at Colonial on Monday for another one-day tournament.
