Three named OAC Athletes of the Week

WESTERVILLE – Three Heidelberg University student-athletes were recognized as Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Players of the Week, tying for the most weekly honors across all fall sports in the conference during the early part of the 2025 season. 

Grace Dohanyos, a senior libero for the Heidelberg volleyball team, earned her first-ever OAC Volleyball Player of the Week award following an outstanding performance at the Case Western Quad. Over the weekend, she anchored the defense with 73 digs across three matches, helping the Berg go 3-0. Her standout game came against Olivet, where she recorded a season-high 32 digs. Dohanyos has tallied 167 digs and 17 assists this season. 

The volleyball team continues its season on September 9, facing Alma College at 7:00 p.m. in Alma, Michigan, with the match available to stream live on FloSports.tv.

Ty Poorman, a junior quarterback for the Heidelberg football team, was named OAC Offensive Player of the Week after a dominant showing in a 65-27 victory over Hiram College. The Orlando native accounted for five touchdowns—three rushing and two passing—while accumulating 218 total yards of offense. His three rushing touchdowns tied a career-best. This marks Poorman's first OAC weekly honor.

Tyreese Clerveau, a junior wide receiver from Florida, earned his first OAC Special Teams Player of the Week award for his electrifying performance in the same game against Hiram. Clerveau racked up 135 return yards on four attempts, including a game-changing 69-yard kick return for a touchdown—his first collegiate score on special teams.Clerveau also contributed offensively with a nine-yard reception. 

The football team returns to action on September 13 against Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio, with kickoff set for 4:00 p.m., streamable on FloSports.tv
