WOOSTER -- The Heidelberg University Baseball team fell in a midweek non-conference contest at the College of Wooster on Wednesday. The Fighting Scots took an early lead en route to an 8-5 win.
Heidelberg slipped to 9-11 overall while Wooster improved to 10-10.
Errors proved costly for the Student Princes, as five of the eight runs allowed were unearned.
Down 3-0 in the sixth, Heidelberg got on the board when a double by
Garrett LaBeau drove in
Andrew Pokley. The Scots responded with four more in the bottom of the inning.
The Berg battled back the next inning. The Logans -- Walpole and Winstead -- walked to start the inning, but a double play took some steam from HU.
Kyle Krummen followed with an RBI single to right before
Braden Keeney reached on an error.
Braedy Limke delivered a run-scoring single to left, playing Krummen. Pokley capped the four-run inning with an RBI double down the left field line.
With his team trailing 8-4 in the ninth, Limke connected on a solo home run -- his first of the season and 10th of his career.
Conference play resumes on Saturday when the Student Princes travel to Mount Union for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
