SALEM, Virginia – Two Heidelberg University football players were named to the D3football.com All-America teams, as announced on Monday.

Special teams standout Austin Niederkohr earned First Team honors, while tailback Drew Miller was selected to the Third Team. The recognitions come just two weeks after both players received All-Region accolades.

Niederkohr, the Carey, Ohio native, proved to be a disruptive force on special teams, blocking four punts and two kicks while recording 13 tackles in coverage duties. His dominant performance earned him the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Special Teams Player of the Year award.

Miller paced the OAC in rushing yards and all-purpose yards, averaging 144.5 rushing yards per game. The Portland, Mich. standout posted a 5.8 yards-per-carry average and scored 13 total touchdowns, landing him First Team All-OAC honors.

With these selections, Heidelberg extends its streak of having at least one D3football.com All-America honoree for the past 16 seasons, dating back to 2009 (excluding the unusual Spring 2021 season affected by COVID).
