TIFFIN -- The Heidelberg University Women's Basketball team fell to Marietta College on Saturday, 79-58. With the loss, Heidelberg slips to 1-9, 0-4 in OAC play. Marietta improves to 7-3, 2-2 in OAC play.

Morgan Altenburger and Emily Valencia led all Heidelberg scorers with 11 points a piece, Chloe Gilbert added 10 points.

The Berg outscored Marietta on second chance points, 8-2 and fast breaks, 10-4. The third quarter belonged to Heidelberg, out-scoring the visitors 20-15. Both teams combined for 68 points in the paint. 

Heidelberg returns to action on Monday, Jan. 6, when they travel to Wooster. That game is slated for a 6:00 p.m. tip.
