AKRON -- The small-but-mighty Heidelberg University Swim Team returned to the OAC Championships for the first time in their current iteration. Finishing sixth on both sides, the Student Princes were welcomed by the other schools for the four-day event hosted at the University of Akron.

Freshman Elli Mayer led The Berg with two All-OAC performances. In total, Heidelberg scored 60 points on the women's side and nine points on the men's side.

In their penultimate showing at the OAC Championships, John Carroll took the team title on both sides.

On Thursday, Zach MacDonald became the first 'Berg swimmer to score points -- taking 12th in the 200-yard individual medley with a season-best 2:02.23.

Cassy Connare scored a point in the women's 200-yard IM with a 2:36.02.

Mayer earned her first All-OAC medallion in the 50-yard freestyle. Sitting second after the preliminaries, thanks to a personal-best 24.36, she was third in the finals, clocking a 24.55.

On Friday, MacDonald took 14th in the finals of the 100-yard butterfly, touching in the wall in 54:49. He set a PR in the prelims earlier, clocking a 54.49.
