OBERLIN, Ohio -- In its final pre-conference tune up, the Heidelberg University softball team split a doubleheader at Oberlin College on Thursday. The Student Princes won the opener, 6-2, then suffered a narrow defeat in the nightcap, 3-2.
Murissa Drown,
Hanna Blasinsky, and
Aubrey Conklin all picked up three hits on the afternoon as the Student Princes moved to 10-11 on the season.

Heidelberg will open up Ohio Athletic Conference action one day later than anticipated. Originally scheduled for Saturday, the home doubleheader against Mount Union has been shifted to Sunday because of the weather forecast. Game one is slated for 1 p.m.
GAME ONE: BERG 6-10-1 OBERLIN 2-10-2
Jade Torres led off the game with an infield single and later scored on a sacrifice foul out by
Meghan Bame. The Yeowomen answered with a run in the bottom of the first.
Still tied in the top of the fourth, Heidelberg took the lead.
Ellie Tressler fouled off five 3-2 pitchers before being hit in the leg. She coasted into third on a double to left center by Drown. Conklin followed with a single to second that drove in Tressler. As Conklin stole second, an errant throw allowed Drown to cross the plate.
Heidelberg extended their lead in the fifth.
Emma Dean was grazed by a pitch and made way for pinch runner
Morgan Woycitzky. After stealing second, she scored on a hard-hit single down the left field line by Tressler. Drown notched another single to center which sent Tressler to third. Pinch runner Aubree Baker and Tressler executed a double steal which gave HU a 5-1 lead.
Oberlin scored an unearned run in the fifth, but a 1-3-7 double play staved off further damage.
Tressler hit a deep sacrifice fly in the sixth which allowed Bame to score an insurance run.
Jessica Voitko (6-5) threw a complete game, allowing one earned run on 10 hits.
GAME TWO: OBERLIN 3-7-0 BERG 2-7-4
Oberlin took a 2-0 lead in the first and added an unearned run in the third.
Heidelberg got on the board in the fifth. Blasinsky singled and moved to second on a walk drawn by
Logyn Chamberlin. After advancing on a groundout, Blasinsky scored on a sacrifice fly by Gabble Stallbaum.
Tressler hit a two-out, pinch-hit double in the seventh, plating Blasinsky. With the tying run on second, the Yeowomen sealed the win with a ground out.
Hailey Schink (0-5), who has pitched much better than her record indicates, went 3.2 innings and allowed two earned runs on six hits.
Payton Scheid allowed one hit in 2.1 shutout innings of relief.
