TIFFIN, OH — The Heidelberg University women's basketball team dropped the regular season finale, 58-41, to the Marietta College Pioneer on Saturday afternoon.
The Heidelberg women conclude the 2021-22 regular season 3-21 overall, 2-15 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while the Pioneers finish 21-4 overall, 14-4 in OAC action.
The Student Princes enter the OAC Tournament as the No. 10 seed and travel to No. 7 Muskingum on Monday. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. Â

Hallie Rogers led the 'Berg offensively with 11 points on 5-of-15 from the field, to accompany her team-high eight rebounds, one steal and one block.

The Pioneers got off to a hot start offensively and kept the pressure on the Tricolor. The two sides were locked at 10-10 after the first, and the Pioneers widened the gap to take a 25-21 lead into the break.
Marietta came out of the intermission red hot and composed an 11-2 run in the first five minutes of the second half to put the game out of reach. Three Pioneers finished in double figures to sneak past the Berg on Saturday and lock in the three seed in the OAC tournament.
A late third quarter surge from the Student Prince wasn't enough to erase the deficit as Marietta led 41-32 after three. The Pioneers tallied 17 points in the fourth to close out Saturday's battle in Seiberling Gymnasium.
Sweeney closed the regular season as the Berg's leading scorer with 254 points on 91-of-252 (36.1%), while Walter led the Tricolor with 161 rebounds, averaging seven boards per contest. Her six-point performance against Marietta eclipsed the 200-point mark (202) on Saturday.
