Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

WSOC falls to Mount Union 3-1

ALLIANCE, OH – On Saturday, the Heidelberg University women's soccer team traveled to the University of Mount Union to take on the Purple Raiders. Unfortunately the Student Princes were on the wrong side of things, resulting in a 3-1 defeat. 

Heidelberg falls to 5-4-2 while Mount Union improves to 5-2-3. 

The Student Princes were held scoreless in the first half of play and were only able to muster three shots. Mount Union was able to capitalize in the 11th minute to make it 1-0. The score would remain the same going into the half. 

In the second half, the visitors saw themselves with a 2-0 deficit. Senior Audrey Kaufman cut into the Purple Raider lead when she nailed one in the top right of the net from 20 yards to make the score 2-1. 

Kaufman's goal gives her a team high six on the season. It was also her 29th career goal which ties for ninth all-time. 

Mount Union was able to add another goal in the 85th minute to help seal their 3-1 victory. 

In goal for Heidelberg was Meredith Bruce who tallied 12 saves on the day, her second-highest output of the season. 

Heidelberg will be back in action on Wednesday as they will host conference foe Ohio Northern. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
