TIFFIN – On Wednesday, the Heidelberg University women's soccer team played conference foe, Ohio Northern. In what looked like an inter-squad game with black-on-orange jerseys, the Tricolor fell to the Polar Bears, 1-0. 

Heidelberg drops to 5-5-2 (1-3-0 OAC) while Ohio Northern improves to 7-1-4 (2-0-2 OAC). 

What ended up being the winning goal came from the Polar Bears in the 14th minute. Off of a cross, Jill Roberts knocked it into the net with a smooth header.

Later, Heidelberg conceded a penalty kick but was spared by a wide left shot from Ohio Northern. 

In goal for the 'Berg was Meredith Bruce, who is currently second in the OAC for saves. She had only had six saves on the day thanks to the Heidelberg backline and Northern's misfires. 

The Polar Bears outshot the Student Princes 18-4. Heidelberg had one shot on goal that came from Audrey Kaufman at the beginning of the second half. 

The Heidelberg women's soccer team will be on the road Saturday at Otterbein for a 2 p.m. kickoff. After that, their final two home games will be next week with Senior Day taking place on Saturday afternoon.
