TIFFIN – On Saturday, the Heidelberg University women's soccer team played Otterbein in their fifth OAC matchup of the season. Unfortunately, they fell short with a hard-fought 1-0 loss. 

Heidelberg falls to 5-6-2 (1-4 OAC) while Otterbein improves to 7-5-2 (3-1-1 OAC).

The fateful game-winning goal came in the 60th minute from the Cardinals. While goalie Meredith Bruce was unable to make the save, she did have a total of 11 on the day and a season total of 81 – which is good for second in the OAC.

In total, Heidelberg was outshot 17-1. The closest chance for a goal for the Berg was from Freshman Caitlynn Cross in the 26th minute. 

The Heidelberg women's soccer team will play their final two home games of the season in the week ahead. On Wednesday they face Baldwin Wallace at 4 p.m., and Saturday, they'll host Marietta for Senior Day with a 2 p.m. Homecoming kickoff.
