WILMINGTON -- Beset by illness and injury, the Heidelberg University women's basketball team suffered a setback on the road. With only nine available players, the Student Princes wore down in the second half and fell to Wilmington College, 78-52.  
Lily Sweeney had a game-high 19 points, hitting four 3-pointers.  
Marissa Thomas scored 14 points and added six assists.  
Heidelberg (3-15, 2-9 OAC) led by one after one, 14-13.  The Student Princes opened up the second with a 10-0 run, with baskets by Lily and 
Anika Sweeney, 
Alyssa Martin and Thomas.  
Undeterred, Wilmington (6-12, 2-8 OAC) closed the half on a 13-0 run and led 30-27.
The hosts outscored The Berg 28-10 in the third quarter, thanks to a 55.6% effort from the floor.  The Quakers continued their strong play in the fourth.  
Wilmington held a massive 44-6 edge in points in the paint.  
Turnovers proved costly for HU, with Wilmington holding a 24-10 edge in points off miscues.  
Taylor Ratliff had a career-high nine rebounds.  
Heidelberg returns home to host John Carroll on Wednesday.  Tipoff with the Blue Streaks is slated for 7 p.m.
