RICHMOND, Ind. -- The Heidelberg University women's soccer team continued its 2021 season with a 3-0 victory at Earlham College on Saturday.
Heidelberg improved to 2-1 while the Quakers fell to 1-3.
The Student Princes peppered the Earlham goal in the first half with 15 total shots in the first 45 minutes of play. Five of those shots were on the frame of the goal and three resulted in team saves by the defense.
Audrey Kaufman broke the stalemate in the 51st minute with her first goal of the game. The team captain hit a low ball under the Quaker goalkeeper after a cross over the middle.
Madi Lause added to the score in the 81st minute. The reigning OAC Offensive Player of the Week was assisted by Kaufman on the score.
Kaufman scored yet another goal in the 86th minute, this off of a cross from
Bekah Thomas on the right side.
Heidelberg had the advantage in shots 29-6 and in corner kicks 10-1.
Meredith Bruce made four saves in her second shutout of the season.
The Student Princes will be back in action Tuesday evening at Oberlin College. The match is slated for a 7 p.m. start.
