GRANVILLE, Ohio -- After dropping to straight games to ranked opponents, the Heidelberg University volleyball team got back on track with a win over Denison University on Tuesday evening. The Student Princes swept the match with victories of 25-16, 25-16, 25-22

HU improves to 6-7 on the season while the Big Red falls to 7-3.

Heidelberg used a four-point swing midway through through the first set to take a comfortable 17-10 lead. The Berg maintained a large lead for the rest of the set before a Denison attack error gave them the win.

Similar to the first set, HU and Denison battled through a tight second set. The Student Princes made a run to turn a 13-10 lead into a 18-10 advantage. Two service aces by Mya Morris highlighted the run. Morgan Strenk put the exclamation mark on the set with a kill to give the visitors a 2-0 lead.

Heidelberg trailed early in the third set, down by as many as seven points. HU slowly chipped away at the Big Red lead and took the lead with Anna McNabb back to serve. A kill from Strenk evened the score at 20 and a Denison attack error gave the Berg the lead. Back to back kills from Taylor Valentine sealed the sweep for the Student Princes.

Strenk led the attack with 14 kills as Valentine added eight. McNabb dished up 33 assists and tallied 11 digs. Senior libero Rachel Raimondo had 19 digs while Mya Morris contributed five service aces.

The Berg travels to Transylvania this weekend for a two-day tournament. HU will play Bowdoin on Friday at 5 p.m. before playing two matches on Saturday.
