ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University Volleyball team picked up another important conference win on the road, defeating Mount Union, 3-1. After faltering late in the first, HU took the next three sets in a 24-26, 29-27, 25-19, 25-19.
Heidelberg improved to 19-4 overall, 5-1 in the OAC.
Emily Miller had 18 kills on 40 swings to lead all hitters.
Riley Tople had 16 kills and
Ava Devereaux powered her way to a career-high 14 kills. Miller and Devereaux set new career highs, while Tople equalled her collegiate best.

Olivia Miller tallied 27.
Reagan Davis (20 digs) and
Kailee Rank (10 digs) led the team defensively. HU registered 12 team blocks, with
Soraya Jackson taking part in six of them.
The Student Princes squandered a chance to take the first set, missing out on three set points. In the second, they again let a late lead slip away. Unlike the first set, however, The Berg righted the ship and outlasted the hosts for a 29-27 win to even the match.
In the third, Heidelberg took an early 5-1 lead. Later, a 5-0 run provided enough separation for a comfortable win.
As they did in the previous set, HU raced out to a 5-1 advantage. Three separate 4-0 spurts put the Student Princes in a position to secure the win. They did with Tople's 16th kill of the evening.
Mount Union slipped to 17-6, 2-3.
