BEXLEY, Ohio -- The story was all Capital as the Heidelberg University women's basketball team suffered a 73-43 road loss to the Crusaders. Sophomore Maddy Crawford tallied her eights double-double of the season, netting 14 points and adding 11 rebounds.
The home team broke out of the gates, scoring early and often, leading 21-14 after one period.
Capital outscored the Berg 15-5 in the second quarter, giving them a comfortable 36-19 lead at the break.
The Crusaders kept the momentum throughout the second half, cruising to the victory. Capital's Regan Stonerock poured in a game-high 17 points.
The Student Princes shot 90% from the foul line.
Heidelberg suffered cold shooting, hitting just 27% from the floor. The Berg falls to 4-16, 2-10 in the OAC.
The Berg stays on the road this Saturday when they travel to Marietta College. Tip off is slated for 1 p.m., the front half of a double header with the men's team.
