T&F: Stoll, Fritz, Schwarzbek earn All-Ohio titles

DELAWARE, Ohio -- Competing at the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships, the Heidelberg University men's and women's track teams were in action on Saturday.

The meet, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University, fields some of the toughest competition in Division III in the state of Ohio.

Dan Stoll, Wes Fritz and Allison Schwarzbek took home All-Ohio Championships on the day to pace the Student Princes.

As a team, the men finished eighth with 46 points, while the women's team placed 12th with 19 points. Otterbein University swept both the men's and women's team scores.

"We had a number of standout performances today," said head coach Joe Yoder. "We have a few gaps to fill heading into OACs in a couple weeks, but we are excited for championship season!"

Heidelberg will travel to Ohio Northern's Polar Bear Invitational next weekend on April 20th.

Men's 400m Dash: Stoll narrowly claimed the top spot with a time of 48.79. He edged Justin Winfield of Ohio Wesleyan by just .15 seconds.

Men's High Jump: Fritz took home top honors in the high jump with a leap of 2.00m. He defeated second place finisher Vince Jackson of Defiance by .06m.

Women's 400m Hurdles: Schwarzbek took first with a time of 1:04.35 in the toughest competition on the track.

Men's 400m Hurdles: In what some considered the showcase race of the day, the top two runners in the nation at the 400m hurdles faced off in the third heat. Kenny Beucler took second as he was edged by Cwinn Febus of Otterbein in an exhausting battle. Beucler crossed with a time of 52.97 seconds.

Men's 4x100m Relay: The quartet of Branden Short, Noah Paris, Stoll, and Volaskis Walkins finished second, clocking a time of 42.45 seconds.

Women's 200m Dash: Kelsey Grove won her heat and finished third overall with a time of 25.73 seconds.

Men's 4x400m Relay: The team of Eric Peterson, Beucler, Mitchell Luken, and Stoll finished fourth with a time of 3:23.55.

Men's 200m Dash: Stoll continued his day of scoring points and finished sixth overall in the 200. His time clocked in at 22.20 seconds.

Men's 5,000m Run: Austin Neura earned two team points with his seventh place finish in the second longest run of the day. Neura finished with a time of 15:12.05.

Women's 100m Dash: Grove (12.70 seconds) and Arinn Hayes (12.82 seconds) crossed seventh and eighth to place for Heidelberg.
