WESTERVILLE -- Dan Stoll and Wes Fritz claimed titles at the All-Ohio Championships, hosted by Otterbein University on Saturday. Fritz and Stoll are the first Heidelberg students to win an All-Ohio Indoor title since Madison Haasz in 2016.
The men's team placed sixth and the women's team was tenth at the statewide event.
"We had some big-time performances today," said Head Coach Joe Yoder. "I think we are really hitting our stride as we prepare for the conference meet."
The Student Princes will return to competition next weekend at the Kent State Tune-Up. The OAC Championships are Feb. 22-23 at Ohio Northern.
All-Ohio Status (Top Three):
Men's 200 Meter Dash -- By .3 seconds, Stoll edged James Roth (MTU) and Tommy Davis (OWU) to claim the title. He clocked a 22.40, 22nd-best time in Division III this season.
Men's High Jump -- Fritz cleared 6-9.5 on his first attempt, winning the competition. He sits fourth in the nation.
Men's 400 Meter Dash -- Stoll was back on the podium with a third-place finish in the 400. He is 16th in the nation with a converted time of 49.11.
Men's Weight Throw -- Ben Gutzky's throw of 59-55 was good for third at Otterbein.
Womens' 4x200 Meter Relay: Allison Schwarzbek, Arinn Hayes, Ayanna Hayes, and Kelsey Grove combined to take third in the 4x2. The quartet clocked a 1:47.93.
Other standout finishes:
Women's 60 Meter Dash -- Arinn Hayes took .07 seconds off her prelim time, taking fifth in the 60 with a time of 8.02.
Women's 200 Meter Dash: Arinn Hayes (26.60) was fifth and Kelsey Grove (26.84) was eighth in the 200.
Women's 400 Meter Dash: Allison Schwarzbek clocked a 1:01.20, good for sixth in the 400.
Men's 3000 Meter Run: With a time of 8:48.95, Austin Neura finished fifth.
Women's Long Jump: After fouling on her first two attempts, Arinn Hayes advanced with a leap of 17.13 feet. In her final attempt she improved to 17.16 feet, finishing fourth.
Men's Long Jump: Fritz's best mark, 21.62 feet, came on his third attempt. He placed fourth.
