TIFFIN -- A late Wooster goal sank the Heidelberg University men's soccer team on Wednesday, as the Student Princes fell to the Scots, 2-1.
Heidelberg dropped to 1-3 on the season with the loss while Wooster improved to 3-1-1.
After a scoreless first half, The Berg struck early in the second. Kyle Morton crossed the ball onto the foot of Simon Joseph, who one-timed the ball into the net in the 49th minute. The goal was similar to one scored in Friday's win over Mt. St. Joseph, only the roles were reversed.
Less the 10 minutes later, the visitors equalized on a Will Yakubik goal in the 57th minute.
The score remained knotted until the 85th minute, when Connor Hawkins buried an opportunity on a rebound.
Wooster outshot Heidelberg, 11-8, but both goalies -- Will Collis and Jake Kress -- registered three saves.
The match was played on a practice field at the Hidden Valley Soccer Complex because game field was still rendered unplayable because of heavy rains over the weekend.
Heidelberg has a week to recover before traveling to Case Western Reserve University on Sept. 19. Game time in Cleveland is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
