AUSTINTOWN -- On Wednesday morning, junior defensive midfielder Hunter Edwards was announced as an All-OAC honorable mention selection for the Heidelberg University men's lacrosse team.
Edwards, a native of Ashland, Ohio, joins fellow junior Chris Storrs as the only two athletes to have earned postseason recognition in the brief three-year history of the men's lacrosse program at Heidelberg. Storrs was tabbed honorable mention in 2017 as a defender.
As a captain this season, Edwards was at the heart of the engine room for the Berg on the field. Getting involved on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball, Edwards compiled a stat line of 12 goals, 13 assists, 117 ground balls, and 29 caused turnovers.
Edwards' 117 ground balls set a new single season best for an individual in the program and his 235 career ground balls shattered the previous program record (140).
Edwards led the Student Princes to a 6-11 overall record and a 3-6 mark in conference play. The three OAC victories was a new best for the program in a single season.
