KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- After a stellar senior campaign, Myron Prewitt has been named second team All-Great Lakes Region by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
Prewitt is the sixth different men's basketball player to be named to the NABC All-Region team in Heidelberg history. He is the first player since Andrew Lemmon was named first team in the 2007-08 season.
Adding onto this selection, Prewitt was also named first team All-OAC and OAC Player of the Week this season. He averaged a double-double with 19.7 points per game and 10.8 rebounds per contest. His scoring average was good for second in the conference, while he paced the OAC in rebounding. He also ranked in the top-five of the conference with 20 blocks on the year. This season alone, Prewitt scored 512 points and pulled in 280 rebounds.
In his career, Prewitt has scored 1,374 career points and collected 740 career rebounds. His career scoring mark is good for tenth all-time in Berg history. Furthermore, Prewitt also tied a school record for most 3-pointers in a game with eight. The mark was set at Mount Union as part of a 44-point effort by the senior.
Prewitt led his team to a conference tournament berth as the seventh seed where they fell on the road to Mount Union.
Prewitt joins three other OAC players on the NABC All-Region team as Austin Schreck of Capital earned first team, while Jay Battle of Baldwin Wallace and Ryan Bruns of Ohio Northern were also named second team.
