TIFFIN -- The Heidelberg University Women's Soccer team started off their season with a bitter 3-1 setback against Adrian College on a muggy Tuesday evening in Hoernemann Stadium. The loss broke a string of three straight season-opening ties.

Brianna Braatz tallied her 20th career goal in the 22nd minute.
Morgan Adams darted forward and won a ball in the midfield. Adams played the ball to Braatz's right side and the speedy junior needed one touch to beat the Adrian goalkeeper.
The score remained 1-1 into the second half, where the Bulldogs scored twice.
In goal,
Maddi Springer made two saves in the first half.
Malana Sturgeon saved three in the second 45.
Hiram outshot HU, 8-6.
The women will travel to Alma on Saturday for a 1 p.m. kick off.
