TIFFIN -- The Heidelberg University Women's Soccer team secured their first win of the season on Wednesday at Hoernemann Stadium, defeating the Earlham Quakers 3-0.
In the first half, freshman
Harper Danze was able to connect with
Brianna Braatz who buried the ball to put Berg up on the board, 1-0.
Braatz struck again in the 80th minute of the match, with an assist from junior
Ella Jacobs.
Jacobs made her second connection just two minutes later with senior
Mallory Zavatchen, who snuck the ball in the right corner of the net off of Jacob's corner kick.
In goal,
Maddi Springer tallied three saves over 90 minutes, marking her first career shutout.
The women will travel to Grand Rapids, Mich. for a match against Calvin on Saturday. Kick off is set for 6 p.m.
