TIFFIN, Ohio – With a young team for the 2026 season, Heidelberg Volleyball is looking forward to a season of growth and success. Welcoming 10 freshmen, the roster also returns six sophomores, five juniors, one senior, and one graduate student.

The Berg will also host their second annual Spike Night, an outdoor volleyball match at Hoernemann Stadium, on Monday, Sept. 21st. Calvert and Columbian will kick-off the night with a scrimmage, followed by Heidelberg versus Tiffin University, under the lights, at 7 p.m.

THE COACHES:
Head Coach Jason Miller returns for his 26th season with HU Volleyball. Alongside Miller, Kellyn Kennedy is returning for her second season as a Graduate Assistant. Beyoncé Pierce has joined the Student Princes this year as a Coaching Intern while working towards a Master's in Counseling.

THE PLAYERS: 
Leading the charge for the Student Princes is Graduate Student Riley Tople. After missing out on the 2025 season due to injury, the two-time All-OAC right side looks to add to her impressive 2.07 kills per set.

Ending the 2025 season with a team-high 571 assists and appearing in all 31 matches, senior setter Maddie Reed looks to end her career on a high note. Reed's leadership on the court and play creation will be key as she looks to help the team be competitive this season. 

Appearing in all 31 matches as a sophomore, Sophia Simon returns for her junior season with Heidelberg. Leading the team in kills with 295 last fall and adding 28 aces, she looks to continue to be a strong offensive presence at the net. 

After tallying 489 assists, 52 kills, and 28 aces last season, setter Olivia Miller returns for her junior season. With the second most assists on the team, Miller's setting is vital to Heidelberg's success.

Defensive specialist Reagan Davis earned 254 digs and 29 points her sophomore season. After appearing in all 31 matches last fall, she is looking forward to using her knowledge to lead the Student Princes.

Also returning for their junior seasons are Ava Devereaux and Soraya Jackson. 

Three returning sophomores, Emma Jones, Cassandra Bower, and Kailee Rank, are ready to build off of their strong freshman campaigns. 

THE SCHEDULE: 
The Student Princes kick-off their season on Tuesday, September 1st. They will travel to Ohio Wesleyan and play at 7 p.m. 
For the first time in the five year history of the Great Lakes Cross Over, Heidelberg will be hosting the event on campus at Frann's Fieldhouse. The tournament will take place Sept. 4th and Sept. 5th. HU matches include facing Hiram, Allegheny, Case Western, and Hanover. The first home game will be held Tuesday, Sept. 8th at 7 p.m. in Seiberling Gymnasium against Earlham. OAC play will kick off Oct. 1st at 7 p.m. at home against Wilmington.
