The Heidelberg University Women's and Men's Golf teams were very active over the past week, competing in a combined five events. The results included a medalist and a hole-in-one.

The men's teams started at Thursday's OAC Spring Preview at River Greens, shooting 316 as a team -- good for seventh. The A team was led by Josh Ferdon's 77 and Logan Niese's 79.  Emerson Grassbaugh and Matthew Peter rounded out the scorers with 80s. James Johnston shot an 81. The B team was paced by Cael Dowdell's +1 73, good for a 10th-place tie.

Both squads played in the Polar Beaver Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Due to the heavy rains throughout the week, both rounds were played at Hidden Creek Golf Club. The women's team was second with a 332-327--659 and the men's squad was 4th with a 303-303--606.

Brooke Barnes was the medalist with a 77-79--156, finishing one shot ahead of ONU's Marisa Alfes. Lydia Dietz was tied for third with an 82-78--160 for the weekend. Danielle Powell was next, shooting an 87-83--170. Fourth for HU was Adi Kramer, whose 86-87--173 was highlighted by an ace on the par-3 sixth hole. The shot, hit with her six-iron, was the first hole-in-one of her lifetime.

The men's team was paced by a third-place finish from Johnston. He shot a -1 71-72--143, finishing two shots back. Ferdon carded a 72-78--150. Niese (80-77--157) and Peter (81-76--157) were tied, and Grassbaugh shot an 80-79--159.

After the holiday, both teams returned to action at Monday's aptly-named Easter Leftovers tournament. The women were third shooting a 346, while the men were seventh with a 328.

Dietz was fifth overall, finishing with two birdies en route to an 84. Barnes started with a birdie on 16 and ended with an 85. Powell shot an 87 and Lexie Honigford carded a 90, with one birdie apiece.

Ferdon ended with a 12th-place finish, shooting a 79. Peter was next with an 81. Scoring rounded out with 84s from Grassbaugh and Johnston.

Both teams return to action on Friday and Saturday. The women visit Spalding University's Preview at Timbergate. The men venture to the Mount Union Spring Invitational at Tannenhauf.
