Terriers tamed by 'Berg

TIFFIN -- The surging Heidelberg University Women's Soccer team closed non-conference action with an impressive 2-0 win over visiting Hiram College on Saturday. HU scored once in each half and outshot the Terriers, 15-4.

It was another clean sheet for co-captain Brigid Enright, who hasn't been scored upon in 393 minutes of action. She was called upon to make three saves.

Alayna Hahn put Heidelberg, now 7-1-1, on the board in the 25th minute. A throw-in deep in the Terrier end was trapped and played to the foot of Brianna Braatz. Taking a few touches, Braatz played a perfect pass into space for Hahn, who beat the goalkeeper to the near side. It was the sophomore's second career goal.

Up 1-0 early in the second half, Caitlyn Cross was tripped up inside the penalty area. The referee wasted no time, pointing to the penalty spot after the infraction. Syd Hewer calmly stepped up and buried the shot inside the right post -- her third goal of the year.

OAC play begins on Saturday, hosting Wilmington College for a 2 p.m. tussle at the Hidden Valley Soccer Complex.
