TIFFIN -- With the groundbreaking of the Fieldhouse officially underway, Heidelberg Athletics has turned its sights on rounding out the department's roster of coaches for the 2024-25 school year. The changes include a number of new faces and promotions within the department's 24 varsity teams. Check back often throughout the summer to learn more about the changes.

BASEBALL: No changes this summer.

MEN'S BASKETBALL: With assistant coach Corey Harvey's departure to become the head coach at Knox, 'Berg Head Coach Andy Bucheit has promoted Keandre Graves into the head assistant role. Graves was a graduate assistant for the 2023-24 season. Stepping into a role with the team is Jason Faizy, who recently graduated from the University of Buffalo. Former 'Berg All-OAC honoree Tamal Watkins has accepted a role as a player development specialist and current Heidelberg Student Senate President Conor Sukel will serve as director of operations.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Promoted to head coach in April, Erin Eaton has hired Hunter Stidham as an assistant coach. Stidham was a standout player at Maryville University, scoring 931 points for the Saints.

CROSS COUNTRY/TRACK: As announced in June, 'Berg graduate Daniel Simpson has been named head coach for men's and women's cross country and assistant coach for men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field.

ESPORTS: No changes this summer

FOOTBALL: Quarterbacks coach Tate Schorr joined the staff in the spring, replacing Trace Reynolds -- who left to coach his alma mater, Edgewood High School. Charlie Avila left to be closer to his family in Califtornia, a move that allowed Head Coach Scott Donaldson to bring Matt Morgan aboard. Morgan -- who, like Donaldson, is a SUNY Brockport grad -- brings more than five years of experience with him to Tiffin. Two new interns have also joined the crew -- Floirda native Keonte Cash and former Fighting Muskie Gabe Marks.

MEN'S and WOMEN'S GOLF: No changes this summer.

MEN'S LACROSSE: A familiar face is returning to Tiffin as jack-of-all-trades Alex Bruder joins the program as a graduate assistant. In five seasons with the Tricolor, Bruder spent time as an attackman and a goalkeeper. He is third in goals, asissts, points and saves in program history.

MEN'S SOCCER: Head Coach Nick Spell is welcoming two new graduate assistants to the program, Garrett Barnes and James Tolley. Barnes worked as a student assistant at Southern Indiana while Tolley, a native of Coventry, England, began his coaching career guiding several teams at the University of Warwick.

WOMEN'S SOCCER: Now in her fourth season, Head Coach Maddie McLaughlin is excited to welcome two new GAs to the fold. Jordan Smith was a three-time all-conference honoree at Cal State East Bay as a goalkeeper. Smith is joined by Aly Brugh, a four-year player at the College of Wooster.

SOFTBALL: No changes this summer.

SWIMMING: No staffing changes this summer, but the pool at the Tiffin YMCA is undergoing massive renovations.

STUNT and CHEER: No changes this summer.

VOLLEYBALL: Head Coach Jason Miller has hired Allyson Milligan as an assistant coach, replacing Heloisa Niespodzinski. After competing at Carthage College for two seasons, Milligan finished her volleyball career at Ashland University while earning her MBA. In addition to assisting the women's lacrosse team at Ashland, Milligan has extensive experience coaching at the club level.

MEN'S WRESTLING: No changes this summer.

WOMEN'S WRESTLING: CarrieAnn Randolph was named the first-ever head coach for the budding Women's Wrestling program.

ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT: Heidelberg President Rob Huntington and Athletic Director Greg Cooper have selected Dr. Nichole Griffin as co-Faculty Athletic Representative. Griffin joins Dr. Ryan Musgrave in the important role within the university and the OAC, and replaces longtime FAR Dr. Traci Stark, who stepped down as FAR in May.
