ADA -- The Heidelberg University Volleyball team dropped its second straight match, getting tripped up on the road at Ohio Northern, 3-1. After falling in the first two sets, Heidelberg took the third and nearly forced a fifth set, but fell in extra points in the fourth. ONU won, 25-16, 27-25, 22-25, 27-25.
Heidelberg slipped to 11-10 overall, 2-2 in the OAC. The Polar Bears improved to 16-5, 2-2.Â
Maddie Reed had 34 assists on the evening, setting up the Heidelberg offense which hit .239 as a team.
Olivia Miller added 16.Â
Lexi Wachtman,
Riley Tople and
Sophia Simon all finished with 11 kills while
Riley Ameel and
Gabby Wolfe finished with nine.Â
Defensively,
Grace Dohanyos had a game-high 31 digs. Ameel chipped in on seven blocks.
Heidelberg returns home on Saturday to host Mount Union. The match is slated for a 1 p.m. start.Â
