TIFFIN -- The Heidelberg University Women's Soccer team was tripped up at home, falling to Wooster, 3-0. The Fighting Scots scored late in the first half then early and late in the second half in the win.
Heidelberg slipped to 1-2-2 on the season and Wooster improved to 7-0-1.
Scoreless throughout much of the first half, Wooster was the recipient of a penalty that stemmed from a handball at the very edge of the box in the 41st minute. Hallie Georskey slotted the ball past a diving
Brigid Enright.
Down 1-0 in the second half, Heidelberg conceded another goal in the 53rd minute. Julia Struck beat Enright to the right side.
Heidelberg's best chance came in the 69th minute off a corner kick by
Megan Hamilton. The ball bounced around inside the six-yard box before being cleared away.
The Student Princes were outshot, 11-7. Enright had three saves in the loss.
Up next, Heidelberg hosts Bluffton for the front half of a women's / men's soccer twinbill on Saturday. The women's game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start, with both games taking place at the Hidden Valley Soccer Complex.
