LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) released its annual All-Region teams, and for the second straight year, Heidelberg University shortstop
Emma Dean was among the selections. Dean, a third team honoree in 2022, was a second team selection this year.
The Pickerington native hit .506 with 15 doubles and 23 RBI in 28 games for Heidelberg before suffering a season-ending injury. The .506 average is the second highest single season mark in program history, behind Pam Price's .557 average in 1994.
Dean holds a .423 career average with 35 doubles and 94 RBI.
She joins Mikaela Mitsch, Kayela Zachrich, and Marissa Smego as Heidelberg's only multiple-time NFCA All-Region honorees. Mitsch was a four-time selection (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016) while Zachrich and Smego both received the honor in 2015 and 2016.
