Box Score TIFFIN -- The Heidelberg University Volleyball team was swept by visiting Baldwin Wallace University on Wednesday.  The Yellow Jackets won 27-25, 25-17, 25-13.  

Heidelberg dropped to 14-12 overall, 2-4 in the OAC.  BW moved to 11-10, 4-2.  

Riley Tople led HU with 10 kills on the evening. Nicole Thomas had 11 digs and Maddie Reed had 17 assists.  

The first set was remarkably tight throughout, with neither squad enjoying more than a two-point lead.  Late in the frame, HU led 23-21, before the Yellow Jackets took the next three points.  The hosts staved off two set points before succumbing, 27-25.  

Heidelberg trailed 13-9 in the second set before bouncing back with a 4-0 run punctuated by back-to-back blocks by Grace Porter and a combo of Lexi Evak and Riley Tople.  BW answered with a momentum-stealing 6-0 streak, highlighted by three kills from Gabby Schlecht.  

The Yellow Jackets swarmed The Berg in the third set, smashing all hopes of a comeback.  

Heidelberg hosts Marietta and Alma on Saturday for a tri-match. Game one, slated for 1 p.m., features Heidelberg and Marietta. Game two will follow, with Marietta battling Alma.  HU and Alma square off in the final match of the afternoon.
