ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University wrestling team went 1-2 at the OAC duals, hosted by Mount Union. Sandwiched between a pair of losses was a colossal 60-0 victory over Wilmington.
On the day,
TJ Rhamy and
Adam Medeiros both went 3-0. Rhamy was downright dominant, earning two pins and a technical fall.
In the opening match against Mount Union, the Student Princes fell into a massive 28-0 hole through the first five weight classes.
Carson Mendoza-Pottenger put Heidelberg on the board with a 4-0 shutout of Jeff Dunfee at 165.
TJ Rhamy and
Adam Medeiros followed with back-to-back pins at 174 and 184, cutting the Purple Raiders lead down to 28-15. Undaunted, the hosts won at 197 and 285 en route to a 37-15 win.
Heidelberg bounced back in a big way over Wilmington, picking up a 60-0 win.

Brandon D'Egidio, Josh Gibson,
Claude Buckmaster,
Adam Medeiros and
Aidan Belgiorno all won by forfeits.
Anthony Grecol, Mendoza-Pottenger, Rhamy and
Gabriel Martinez each pinned their opponents.
The third match was the most exciting of the day. After Otterbein took three points at 125, D'Egidio knotted the match with a narrow 6-5 win over Zach Orseno at 133. The Cardinals won decisions at 141, 149, 157 and 165 -- opening up a 15-3 advantage. Rhamy responded with a dominant 15-0 tech fall at 174 before Medeiros added a 15-6 major decision at 184. Clinging to a 15-12 lead, Otterbein answered with a major decision at 197 to seal the match. Martinez closed the day with a 3-2 win over Zac Stray at 285.
Mederios is 5-0 in OAC competition, with one dual remaining. Rhamy moved to 4-1 in the OAC and is 18-3 overall.
The Student Princes return to action next weekend at the Pete Willson Wheaton Invitational in Illinois.
