BEXLEY -- Despite a 25-0 run in the first half, the Heidelberg University men's basketball team suffered a disappointing 73-68 setback at Capital University on Wednesday.  The Student Princes shot 6-for-9 from long range in the first half, but was undone by a 1-for-12 performance in the second half.

Dylan Woods had 14 points and
Emmanuel Perdue had 13 points in the loss.
Capital (13-8, 8-6 OAC) led 26-12 with 11:25 to play in the first half -- and did not score again until Ryan Roth hit a pull-up 3-pointer with 1:04 left.  In the meantime, Woods scored 12 points and Watkins had nine.  The 25-0 run included five triple-hits.  Heidelberg led 39-29 at half.

Heidelberg trailed by nine with 3:01 left, but managed to get back to within three on a pull-up jumper by Perdue that came with 47 seconds left.  On the ensuing possession, Roth stepped into a 3-pointer which essentially sealed the game.
Capital enjoyed a 36-28 edge on the glass, but HU held a 38-20 cushion in points in the paint.
The loss snapped a four-game win streak for Heidelberg and dropped the Student Princes into a second-place tie with Mount Union in the OAC standings.
Heidelberg returns to the hardwood on Saturday at Otterbein, playing the second half of a women's-men's doubleheader with the Cardinals.  The women's contest is scheduled for 5 p.m. to accommodate the All-Ohio track meet.
