BEREA -- Playing on the road for the second consecutive doubleheader, the Heidelberg University volleyball team was swept by Baldwin Wallace on Tuesday evening.
The Student Princes slipped to 5-3 while BW improved to 5-3.
Freshman
Anamya Truex led the Student Princes with 16 kills.
Maddie Szawranskyj scored 15 kills on the evening.

Sarah Oney recorded 37 digs and
Julianna Pena set up for 26 assists.
GAME ONE: HEIDELBERG 0 BALDWIN WALLACE 3 (25-15, 25-19, 25-22)
Szawranskyj was the leading scorer for Heidelberg in the first game with seven kills. She was followed by Truex with five kills, Truex also scored one ace.
Oney recorded 20 digs in the back line for the Student Princes.
A 5-0 run began the match for the Yellow Jackets, and they steadily improved their lead throughout the set.
Taylor Gimenez scored three kills in the set.
Trailing 5-4, Heidelberg gave up a 6-1 run in set two. The Student Princes were able to recover the deficit and close back to a 16-15 score, but gave up a 6-2 run late which sealed the set.
Heidelberg began each set better than the previous one and had the score even at 10 in the third set. An 8-1 run for the Yellow Jackets gave the home squad a seven-point lead late in the set. With their backs against the wall, the Student Princes tried to rally out of a 22-16 deficit but fell short in the end. Szawranskyj recorded four kills in the final set.
GAME TWO: HEIDELBERG 1 BALDWIN WALLACE 3 (25-14, 27-25, 25-22, 25-23)
Truex led the Heidelberg offense in match two with 11 kills. Gimenez and Szawranskyj tallied eight kills.
The Yellow Jackets took a commanding lead early in the first set of match two 11-4. Heidelberg managed to score a 4-0 run late in the set but the deficit was too large for the Student Princes to overcome. Szawranskyj scored two kills in the set.
The second set had a close score throughout the frame. Neither side led by more than two points until Baldwin Wallace took a 19-15 lead after a 6-1 run. Trailing 22-18, the Student Princes scored a 5-0 run to take the lead by one point. The Yellow Jackets scored twice, followed by a pair of scores for HU to lead 25-24 and lead to extra points being played. A 3-0 run for the home squad gave BW its second set win of the match.
With BW leading 5-4, Heidelberg ran a five-point streak to lead the set. The Student Princes maintained a slim lead throughout the set to hold onto their only set win of the evening.
Ashley Foster scored four kills in the frame.
After trailing 7-3, a five point run for the Student Princes brought life to the offense. Heidelberg kept the last set close and tied the score at 22 after a 4-0 run. But the Yellow Jackets were not to be defeated and pulled out a 25-23 win.

Heidelberg will return to Seiberling Gymnasium for a pair of matches against Otterbein on Friday, with the first match beginning at 6 p.m.
