TIFFIN --  The Heidelberg University men's lacrosse team fell in its season opener to John Carroll University on Saturday.  The Blue Streaks took control of the game early en route to the 32-1 win.  

Freshman Cian Howery made 16 saves in the loss, as JCU peppered the goal with 76 shot attempts.  

Alex Bruder scored the lone goal for the Student Princes.

The Blue Streaks took an early lead in the first quarter and never looked back -- holding a 17-0 edge at halftime.  In the first half, JCU outshot Heidelberg 40-4.  

In the second half, Bruder scored in a man-up situation -- an unassisted goal from the left side.  

As the game continued, JCU maintained their steady pressure.  

The Student Princes will look to regroup for another home game next Saturday.  Ohio Northern visits Hoernemann Stadium for a 1 p.m. start.
