Box Score OBERLIN -- In their first away game in almost three weeks, the Heidelberg University women's soccer team dropped a match with Oberlin College 3-0. The loss moves Heidelberg to 3-3-2. Oberlin improves to 5-2-0.
The Yeowomen scored their first goal in the 30th minute. Gwennie Gardiner slipped a shot past HU goalkeeper Alexandra Farmer.
Early in the second half, Oberlin struck again. Farmer came out to stop a breakaway, but the ball got by her. Gardiner crossed the ball, and with Farmer still on the ground Jackie Brant tapped it into the wide open net.
Oberlin's third goal came on a breakaway with just under 20 minutes to play.
Farmer notched five saves in the match. Jordyn Morris and Emma Gordon split the time in goal for the Yeowomen. They combined to make two saves.
The Student Princes registered just two shots on goal compared to Oberlin's eight.
HU is back in action September 24th when they travel to Geneva College. Kickoff against the Golden Tornadoes is scheduled for noon.
