THE QUOTE OF THE DAY: Head coach Betsy Hada on the consistency of her offense -- "Our offense isn't just one through four. It's one through nine and the whole bench. Anyone can step up at any moment."
TARP DUTY: A week of heavy rain took a toll on softball diamonds across the state and Frann's Field was no different. It took a team of more than 30 people to take off the tarp after the rain subsided on Friday morning.
"We had the help of some really great people pulling the tarp on Friday," said Hada. "We are really appreciative of all the support from everybody."
EXTRA BASES: The Student Princes have won their first eight games at their new home, Frann's Field ... Six of the wins at home have been settled by one run ... With eight conference games left to play, Heidelberg has already equaled its total from a year ago ... The program's highest conference win total is 10 wins, accomplished three times (1995, 1997, and 1998).
BACK AT IT: The Student Princes will not have much time to revel in their victories. They travel to Bexley to take on Capital University on Sunday. The doubleheader was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but was pushed back due to constant rain last week. At 18-7, 9-1, the Crusaders are tied with the Student Princes atop the OAC standings.
