MARIETTA -- In a battle of nationally-ranked teams, the Heidelberg University men's basketball team struggled to keep the high-octane Marietta Pioneers at bay in the second half in a 100-84 loss. The No. 19 Student Princes allowed the No. 8 Pioneers to score 70 points in the second half in front of a packed house at Ban Johnson Arena.
Emmanuel Perdue led all scorers with 33 points on an incredible 14-of-16 shooting performance. The lefty added six rebounds and three assists.
Dylan Woods had 16 points and four assists while
Zane Leitwein hit three 3-pointers and finished with 11 points.

Tre Watkins all finished with eight.
Perdue hit a pull-up jumper near the midway point of the first half that kicked off a stretch where Heidelberg outscored the Pioneers 25-11. Heidelberg, which led by as many as 17 in the first half, held a 42-30 advantage at halftime.
Marietta closed the gap quickly in the second half, starting with an 11-3 run to pull within four.
Lukas Isaly hit a 3-pointer with 8:33 to play that tied the game at 65. It was the start of a 15-0 run that entirely changed the course of the game. Isaly scored 11 of the 15 during the run, and scored 25 of his 27 points in the second half.
Perdue kept scoring, but Heidelberg had no answer for the Pioneer offense. Marietta shot 25.0% from the floor in the first half and 65.6% in the second.
Isaly was one of five in double figures for Marietta.
Both teams shot over 80% from the foul line, but Heidelberg attempted 20 fewer free throws than the hosts.
The 'Berg loss snapped a seven-game winning streak, which started on Dec. 1 at Baldwin Wallace. It was the 11th 7+ game streak in school history.
The Student Princes will look to rebound on the road at Ohio Northern on Wednesday. Tipoff in Ada is set for 7 p.m.
